ATD: Are These Great Diet Results for Real?
I have been vegan for 16 days and I am having amazing results with weight loss and energy, but I am also experiencing a drastic reduction of cellulite on my thighs. I wanted to know if this is possible from going on a vegan diet. I have increased the amount of water that I drink also. JoAnn R.
Dear JoAnn,
For whatever reason you’ve decided to go vegan, it’s likely you are experiencing a drastic reduction in calorie and fat intake by avoiding meat, dairy, and eggs–and all the foods that contain these products. What’s working for your weight loss is probably that reduction in calories.
Eating fatty meals, or even just too much at a meal, can leave you feeling sluggish, so if you’re eating lighter now that would account for the increase in energy.
And regarding the cellulite, this is the appearance of fat underneath the skin, and the way this layer of fat presents itself may certainly have changed with your increase in fluid intake.
There’s nothing magical about eliminating animal products–they weren’t causing you all these problems before–rather your new diet is healthier because it’s lower in calories and fat and you are wisely consuming more water as well.
