ATD: How Long Can I Stay on the Cookie Diet?

I started following the cookie diet this week. I’m 5’9 and weigh 228, but I run 5K 5 times a week.
My question is how long can a person stay on this diet. Is there a time when I should get off because my health should be in danger? I need to mention that I’m on cholesterol pills and the cholesterol is in check.

There are several different brands of the Cookie Diet, believe it or not! The cookies are made to be meal replacements and some of the plans call for 5 cookies a day, period, while others suggest you have a “sensible meal” one time during the day. Some of the diets claim the cookies have all the nutrients you need while others encourage you to take vitamin and mineral supplements (which are sometimes sold through the same diet company).

It shouldn’t have any interaction with your cholesterol or medication (just be aware there are some food/drug interactions with some cholesterol medications and speak to your pharmacist or dietitian about yours to make sure). The weight loss you’ll experience on about a 1000 calorie intake sure will help you run more efficiently, but in the meantime you may feel like you’re lacking energy to complete your 5K.

It would probably be wise to choose some middle-ground to let you lose weight while not haveing to worry about health risks. Perhaps eating three “sensible meals” each day and having a cookie as a snack! Plus, you’ll be able to stay on this healthy diet for a long, long time.

I know a close friend that does The Cookie Diet often. And I say often, because her weight loss never sticks on that Diet. Never. It’s like a revolving door, and that’s one ugly cookie,
