Something’s Missing On Losing It With Jillian

(Bob & Jillian – The Ying to my Yang)

So by now I’m sure most of you have watched Losing it With Jillian Michaels on NBC. For those who haven’t, the show revolves around Jillian living with overweight families for 1 week to figure out where they went wrong with their bodies, health, weight, habits, etc. Now, I really wanted to hate this show (mainly because of that signature hip pose she does in every picture she takes), but with each episode I grew a little fonder of what NBC and Jillian are trying to do. But not everyone seems to be able to tolerate the single dose of Jillian.

I don’t think I’ve been able to really appreciate how overbearing Jillian could be without having Bob around to balance some of that out. But she is doing something really amazing on the show that we rarely got to see on the Biggest Loser. The psychology of obesity and weight loss. By far the most important element in becoming healthier. And although it feels like your watching more family counseling than training… it seems to be necessary to drive home the point of the show.

Let’s not confuse editing with reality. Even though the show is surprisingly motivational, it’s much harder for families to lose it on their own. But I think the lessons learned in each episode will serve as a good starting point for families watching at home.

Ok, so maybe we don’t miss Bob that much..but what do you think about the show?

Eek! I haven’t watched the show, but I find her kind of annoying so I don’t know if I would like it. She IS helping a lot of people though, so I guess that counts for something. :)

Reinaldo…I was in tears last night with my wife reading your comment “Thanks you for tonight’s nightmares”. In all honesty the show is pretty awesome and the more I watch it the more different I look at Jillian.
