Smart For Life Overview

Smart For Life Cookies were created to help people lose weight using a low calorie, meal replacement approach.  With over 40 clinics in North America, Smart for Life is also one of the largest weight management centers in the US.

How does the Smart for Life Cookie Diet work?

The premise of the cookie diet is eating low calorie. You will eat 6 cookies a day and a sensible dinner. Each cookie has a proprietary blend of amino acids, fiber, and vitamins that will offer appetite suppression and reduce hunger cravings throughout the day.

The Smart for Life weight loss program is available in two different formats:

At Home
The"at home" plan is more convenient and less intrusive.  You can simply order online and have the products delivered right to your door.

In Clinic
With their "in clinic" medical program, they offer you direct physician care, meaning you have to schedule an appointment with a certified center. During your visit a complete physical is given, appropriate lab tests, blood work, body scan, etc. You're probably asking if your insurance provider would cover this type of visit and the answer is no. We recommended the in clinic program for those who are dangerously obese.

Pros and Cons to Consider

  • Does not promote exercise.
  • Diet is very low calorie and should be used under doctor supervision.

Smart For Life Testimonials

Most of the testimonials found online were positive with many boasting loses of 10lbs to 15lbs during the first two weeks.  Many of the skeptics were pleased with their first experience and were very willing to purchase again in bulk.  But in our research it was evident that this diet is not for everyone.  The negative reviews and comments were on price and lack of variety.  Some went as far as to call the diet boring.  There are also no consumer discounts and products must be purchased from the official website.

Lunar, You CAN exercise but bear in mind that the diet will not give you enough calories to actually work with if you exercise. Take other supplements to keep your body stable, as well as some carbs and more caloric foods that are good for exercise.

I purchased my 42 day supply from Costco and so far so good. It has only been a week, but only drinking water and eating the cookies throughout the day with a huge meal at dinner I can already feel and see a difference. I am trying to lose the last 10 to 15 lbs from when I had my daughter. I hope the results that I have read are typical even for someone that is not that overweight. The blueberry muffins are the worst for me, I literally gag on those. Chocolate chip and Oatmeal/Raisin are tolerable. I can't wait to see if this works. I also have no energy so I am just following the diet and not really working out. I just hope that losing 10 to 15 lbs without working out won't make me squishy. I am taking the multivitiam and the website offers some really great recipes. Good luck to all that are trying it.

I have honestly given this a good shot, but for some reason, I feel dizzy by mid-day, and I dont think it is from lack of food or lack of water. I believe that I could possibly have an allergy to one or more of the ingredients (but yet have never had food sensitivities). Has anyone else experienced feeling "heady" when on this diet? Just curious???

I work 12 hour shifts and these cookies are perfect for throwing a bag into my backpack. I usually only eat the cookies while I'm at work and have lost 25 lbs since January without feeling like I've been on a diet. (losing the weight slowly will help keep it off for me). It's a bit pricey, but so are vending machines when bored.

Today is Day 1 of 7 for the cookie diet. I'm following the diet extremely carefully. The only prob is that it's already 9:30pm and I have 2 cookies left...I'm not hungry enough to eat them..so I have only consumed 927 cals and I should be getting about 1200. I Wish I could get the last 200 cals by eating reg food other than cookies..they are OK but def not crave-worthy. HINT** warm the cookies for 10 secs in microwave they'll taste waaay better! I'll keep u all posted on any weight change.

I did very well on this diet at first, but became bored with it after one month, started craving healthy food I was used to such as brown rice, avacodos, etc. Had to divide lunch and supper and cut down on the cookies.
